Owners of unlocked HTC One M8 smartphones out there wondering when they might get a taste of the Android 4.4.3 KitKat operating system on their devices should rejoice, as the platform upgrade is currently expected to arrive late next week.

The info comes from HTC Vice President of Management Mo Versi, who shared on Twitter some info on the mobile phone maker’s plans for this HTC One M8 update.

Earlier this week, he confirmed that HTC was working on receiving the necessary approvals for the update, and he has already followed up on that statement with some additional details.

A recent tweet from him claims that the company is currently aiming at pushing the firmware refresh late next week, while another post reveals that it will include all enhancements made available in Android 4.4.4 and Android 4.4.3 KitKat platform iterations.

“Yes, however, we've incorporated the security fixes from 4.4.4 into 4.4.3,” he says, responding to a user inquiry on the matter.

One thing that you should keep in mind, however, is the fact that this is only a targeted release date and that there’s no guarantee that it will indeed arrive on HTC One M8 devices as currently planned.

Undoubtedly, more info on the matter will be provided as the actual release date nears, so stay tuned.
