Owners of unlocked HTC One M8 smartphones in the United States should start receiving the Android 4.4.3 KitKat operating system, just as revealed last week.

The new platform upgrade arrive on handsets with all of the features and enhancements that the Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS has been revealed with, as the Taiwanese mobile phone maker has merged all of them in a single software refresh.

The firmware update is being delivered over the air and arrives on handsets as a 592MB download, which is a very large file, indeed.

Unfortunately, the changelog currently available for the software refresh does not offer specific info on what enhancements have been included in it, in addition to the improvements and fixes that Android 4.4.3 and Android 4.4.4 were released with.

As Android Central notes, the unlocked flavor of HTC One M8 is the second device variant to receive the new platform upgrade, after Sprint’s iteration got a taste of it on July 15.

Most probably, the update will be rolled out in stages, which means that some of you will have to wait a bit longer for it to arrive. However, you can go to Settings > About phone > Software update to manually check on its availability.
