Shortly after Samsung completed the rollout of the long-anticipated Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for Galaxy S II, owners living in the United States report that the update is now available for unlocked units in this region.

According to Engadget, it is now available for download OTA (over the air) only for unbranded Samsung Galaxy S II. For the time being, it’s unclear if this is the final version of the Android 4.0 or just a test build.

Those who own unlocked Galaxy S II devices should manually check for it in the Settings menu, in case they hadn’t been notified on the update yet.

Keep in mind that the update is about 216MB in size, so it should take a while until it gets downloaded from Samsung’s servers.
