At this time, Yahoo Mail is one of the most popular e-mail solutions on the Internet because almost every user owns an account to access Yahoo Messenger, News or other products designed by the company. The most interesting announcement of this period comes from the mail team that sustained today that Yahoo Mail will offer unlimited storage size for all users. If you didn't know, the mail service allowed users to store e-mail messages up to 1GB size so you're now able to save all the messages without being restricted by the size limit.

An interesting fact is represented by the evolution of the Yahoo Mail storage size because the product was first introduced in 1997 with 4MB of storage. After almost 7 years, the company updated the product to 100MB and after only 12 months, Yahoo Mail received an important storage size of 1GB.

Yahoo Mail was first introduced in 1997 so, this year, it is the 10th anniversary of the product that will be celebrated with unlimited storage size for all the users. The company's employee sustained the feature will be available starting May for all types of accounts, free and premium.

"As Yahoo! Mail approaches its 10-year anniversary, I'm the lucky one who gets to announce that we will begin offering everyone unlimited email storage starting in May 2007. When Yahoo! Mail launched 10 years ago, users got a whopping 4MB of storage for their entire mailbox. Today, you would fill that up with a single picture from your weekend," John Kremer, sustained in a blog post.

Using this last improvement, Yahoo Mail goes beyond its current rival Gmail that provides 2.8GB storage size and even Microsoft's Live.com that currently offers only 2GB. Although most of the Yahoo Mail users are complaining about the spam filters included in the product, it seems like the company wants to compete with other rivals using the same but more powerful functions.
