For every struggle, there is someone doing more or less well

At one point, hearing a company's decision to cut its workforce was indicative of the general state of the IT industry.

Now, that is no longer the case, at least not exactly. That Sharp will fire 5,000 People is unfortunate, but an isolated incident, more or less.

Case in point, product assembly corporation Pegatron, based in Taiwan, will hire quite a few people.

And by quite a few people, I mean 30 to 40 thousand. Thus, the workforce will swell by around 40%.

This was the decision of Pegatron Technology CEO Jason Cheng, at least according to Digitimes.

Most new employees will probably be tasked with putting together Apple iPhones. Pegatron has recently won a contract for manufacturing the new entry-level model.

The CEO did not comment either way, which was expected, if not appreciated.
