iTunes fans are confirming that Universal Studios has loosened up its policy regarding iCloud downloads, making its movies available for re-download through Apple's suite of web services.

Up until now, both Universal Studios and 20th Century Fox have refused to offer iCloud video streaming because of a contract signed with HBO.

While Fox is retaining its stance, Universal has proceeded to enable re-downloads for customers. Universal titles no longer show a warning that the movie is not available through iCloud.

Fox is not planning to be the black sheep forever. The label is said to be in discussions with its partners for a similar approach to quench the thirst for movies among Apple customers with an iCloud account.
