Cast, director and writers may all return for a second round

“Snow White and the Huntsman” is out in theaters for just a couple of weeks, but its initial success at the box office has already convinced the bosses at Universal that it’s worthy of a sequel. Hence, one will be made.

Deadline has the scoop on the deal, saying that all the major players in the original film might return for a second round.

This also includes actors Chris Hemsworth and Kristen Stewart (perhaps not Charlize Theron, though), but also director Rupert Sanders.

Even though the movie could have fared better at the box office, Universal sees a sequel as a very good chance at making an even better “Snow White,” Deadline says.

This one was a bit rushed because Relativity Media was also coming out with another Snow White film, “Mirror Mirror” with Julia Roberts, so the pressure was huge to meet the earliest possible deadline.

“The filmmaker is in demand now, but he hasn’t chosen his next film and a sequel might well be it. I understand that the actors in the film have options for two sequels, so that part of the equation shouldn’t be too difficult,” Deadline writes.

Should a sequel be greenlit – and it probably will, despite lukewarm reviews – rest assured that you will find out about it here.
