Univention, a company which offers management solutions for internal or cloud-hosted IT infrastructures has released Univention Corporate Server 3.1 Debian-based Linux distribution.

The new operating system from Univention comes with its own App Center and includes an updated version of Samba 4 for the provision of Active Directory-compatible domain services and a tool for the simple migration of Microsoft Active Directory to UCS.

Univention Corporate Server 3.1 offers possibilities for trying out applications on the cloud or in your own computer center. This means that the user can immediately see which applications are available in the App Center and can simply install and uninstall them with a click of the mouse.

The App Center also includes a range of third-party applications such as the groupware solutions Zarafa and Open-Xchange, not to mention the backup solution “SEP sesam.”

More details about the pricing of this distribution for the non-personal use version, as well as other important details, can be found in the official announcement.
