Unity8 and Mir are available, at least for now, only for Ubuntu Touch, and the developers are working hard on improving them.

The work on Unity8 and Mir is continuous, and more features and changes are implemented on a constant basis, as we can easily see from the information provided by Kevin Gunn, the developer who is in charge of these projects.

Highlighs of the latest improvements in Unity8 / Mir:

• Started trusted session work for the shell for content picking & embedded app surface management; • Some tests have been added for the snap-decision notification queue; • The work has started on an early version of copy-paste for text using Mir; • Lots of dash layout work is ongoing, based on the design team direction; • Mir 0.1.4 has been promoted successfully; • Developers are still trying to make udev the input stack.

More details about the Unity8 and Mir updates and changes can be found in the mailing list message.
