The company RealTime Immersive has launched a trailer for the new simulator that it is developing for the United States Army, which will use the name Dismounted Training System.

The Army has invested more than 57 million dollars (43.59 million Euro) in the new training simulator and is using the CryEngine 3 from Crytek to create it.

The Army has been on the cusp of video game development since the early years of the new millennium, when it commissioned the creation of America’s Army, which has received constant updates since then and was used as a sort of recruitment tool.

The Dismounted Training System will be used only internally, for advanced infantry training.

At the moment the military shooter genre is being dominated by the Call of Duty series from Activision Blizzard but Battlefield 3 from DICE and Electronic Arts has recently managed to offer a worthy adversary to the blockbuster series.
