The official United Nations site from Serbia was breached by the local faction of Anonymous, the hackers altering the main page to redirect visitors to their own Facebook profile. On the other hand, the website of the United Nations in Armenia (un.am) was defaced by the Turkey Cyber Army.

The Hack News reports that the Armenian site was defaced to display a protest message written by the Turkish hackers. They claim that the website was hacked because of the UN's operations that took place in Turkey and Azerbaijan.

According to Cyber War News, the Serbian site of the United Nations (rs.one.un.org) was modified by Anonymous Serbia to promote their group by redirecting all the site’s users to their official Facebook page.

The hackers also leaked some server information to prove that they gained access.

At the time of writing, both sites are back online and working properly.

Update. Anonymous Serbia contacted us to reveal that they hacked the United Nations site to protest against the new treaty that will give the UN great power over the Internet.
