Unique Vintage is notifying customers that some of their personal details have been compromised as a result of a “very sophisticated data breach.”

On September 14, the company identified a piece of malware designed to steal information submitted by users on the Unique Vintage website. It’s believed the malware was planted around January 2012.

The compromised information consists of names, email addresses, phone numbers and credit card numbers. The company says that no other details were obtained by the cybercriminals.

Law enforcement has been notified and a complaint has been filed with the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center.

The notification letters sent out to customers contain some recommendations on how to protect themselves against identity theft. However, Unique Vintage is not offering any credit protection services.

The total number of impacted individuals remains unknown.
