It's surprisingly affordable, though we suppose it is fairly small

The other day, I brought you the New Matter MOD-t 3D printer, which can move both its print bed and the extruder. Now, I have some new information straight from the company.

First off, the product may have been finalized, more or less, but it's still not certain if it will be marketed.

The company is making it public, but whether or not sales start will hinge on the success or failure of a crowd-funding campaign on Indiegogo.

The odds of success are pretty high though, which brings me to the second piece of info that I have received: the price of the MOD-t will be of under $300 / €218 (€300 if exchange rates prove as superfluous as they usually are).

We won't know for sure until close to the end of the month, because the crowd-funding campaign will go live only on May 28.

New Matter will definitely score some points thanks to the money sum, as the majority of consumer-oriented printers sell for $500 / €500 or more, though there is the occasional odd one out.

I would have loved to hear some technical details, like resolution and speed of printing, or the build volume, but these things, too, have been held back. Alas, patience will have to do for now.
