Union First Market Bank has announced three new mobile banking offerings. Among those, there’s an iPhone app that allows clients to use the bank’s full suite of mobile banking services.

Union First Market Bank has launched mobile web, text message banking, as well as an iPhone application, becoming the largest community bank in Virginia to offer a complete mobile banking product suite, the company said today.

Those who don’t wield an iPhone but want to access their account information on the go can point their mobile web browsers to m.bankatunion.com.

Customers who want to use text messaging for their banking services can set up this service within Online Banking, said Union First Market Bank.

The iPhone app is free, of course, and it’s available from Apple's App Store as soon as today.

Although advertised as ‘for iPhone,’ it’s also compatible with all iPod touch devices, and the iPad.

It requires a minimum firmware version of 3.1.3, meaning even first-generation iPhones are supported.

Union encourages its customers to use the full suite of mobile banking services, not just the iPhone app.

Commenting on the release, G. William Beale, chief executive officer of Union First Market Bankshares, said "Mobile banking is no longer an exclusive product from large national or regional banks.”

"Union First Market Bank now offers consumers the tools to bank when, where and how they want.  We're able to rollout new products and keep the cost of banking low because of our large branch footprint and financial strength,” Beale added.

“Union remains one of the strongest banks in Virginia because it has continued to follow two key principles of community banking: take the time necessary to know your customers and make loans within your geographic footprint," Beale concluded.
