The diminished demand for PCs has been one of the prevalent aspects of the world's technological side for a couple of years now. It's why companies like Acer are fumbling and others suffered bankruptcy.

Nevertheless, there are some areas in the world, some nations, where sales are actually going well.

Case in point, combined desktop and mobile PC shipments in India totaled 3.2 million in the third quarter of 2013.

That's a 7.9% increase over the same period of the previous year, according to analyst firm Gartner.

Large government orders helped a lot, but consumers still accounted for 40% of the total sales. Sure, it's 7% behind the 47% of 3Q12, but still a decent share.

HP became the number 1 vendor, much to the shock of absolutely no one (32.5% share).
