Opera may have announced the replacement of Presto engine with WebKit, but this does not mean that they’re not still working on the old browser.

After a lengthy pause the developer released a new update, to Opera 12.15 Release Candidate.

It does not include too many modifications and there is definitely no new feature available, but managed to increase the stability of the browser by eliminating a bunch of undisclosed crash bugs.

The new revision also solves the problem with posters being displayed too far down on imdb.com and with ignoring the “readAsArrayBuffer” argument when re-using FileReader.

The developer also informs of a known problem with the search engines list coming up empty if search on Speed Dial is disabled; this should be fixed in the stable build.

Most of the users that saw the announcement for the new update were definitely taken by surprise, since they were expecting the development for the Presto-based release to stop and instead see one powered by WebKit.
