Every now and then, it's really helpful to get some outside guidance regarding what you, as a human being, should do in order to keep
this old planet alive. Every now and then, a game is released to teach children these things - which is even better, because they are the future and they will probably have the thumbs up or down regarding Earth's future. Anyway... Portugal-based Gameinvest has announced that Aquatic Tales is in the works and promised it would teach the young (as well as the not-so-young if they decide to play the game) a few things about conserving our oceans.

Turning your screen into a living aquarium, Aquatic Tales will immerse players in an adventure where they will have to guide and protect a family of fish. Using intuitive controls (the stylus for the DS version, the Wiimote for the Wii and the good old mouse for the PC version), players will find out that everything can be nice and funny in the oceans if we care. The game also promises to promote the importance of family and teamwork, which makes it even a better option for the youngsters who keep playing, even though they shouldn't Halos and CODs and so on...

"Saving the environment is an important issue that we wanted to bring to audiences through a fun and engaging game," said Gameinvest founder and CEO Paulo Gomes. "Aquatic Tales includes important messages about preserving our oceans within an immersive and entertaining gaming experience."

The game will be released just in time to be purchased and offered as a holiday gift and it will be available on Nintendo DS and Wii consoles, as well as PC systems. And, even though I totally agree that even more educative games should exist and kids should learn that conserving and caring for our planet is something that really worth doing, I don't like one thing: the profit-chase. Release the game now, Mr. Developer, not before the holidays, when more people buy it just because they have to!
