Underwater Action Combat with Red Ocean

German publisher Digital Trainment Pool and Anaconda Games announced Red Ocean, an upcoming first person shooter which combines action gameplay with never seen before underwater elements. Forget about killing that annoying AI with a rocket launcher; once you missed him with the sniper rifle, just drown him! Water is written all over the tag title and seems to be unique enough to spice things on its own. Red Ocean is currently in development
at Collision Studios and should be available in February 2007.

Players take the role of Jack hard, diving instructor and treasure hunter extraordinaire. Upon his underwater travels he stumbles upon a secret cold war research station, deep below the ocean surface. On closer inspection, the base doesn't look as deserted as it appears, being in fact controlled by a terrorist organization. It wouldn't be an action game if he wouldn't get caught in their nefarious machinations, thus the carnage begins.

Developers promise players will have to deal with water in all the three states of aggregation. Your character can swim silently towards the target while diving, and conveniently drown his nemesis. Sub zero temperatures will render all water solid frozen while surfaces become dangerously slippery. Hot steam is also to be taken into consideration for either smart stunts or simply the benefit of still having your health at maximum levels. Red Ocean promises some nice innovations that whether above or below the water line are sure to take your breath away.
