14 DAY TRIAL // In March this year, Mark McDaniel, one of Mama June’s former flames, who went away to prison for 10 years after molesting her own daughter, 8-year-old Chickadee, was released after serving his time. By September, Mama June was already making romantic escapades with him – and dragging Honey Boo Boo along for cover.
The most recent nail in the coffin of Mama June’s reality television career comes from Uncle Poodle, real name Lee Thompson, Honey Boo Boo’s uncle and the brother of Mama June’s estranged partner Sugar Bear.
Uncle Poodle is telling the National Enquirer that Mama June used her own daughter, who is now 9, as cover for her affair with the convicted pedophile. In doing so, she exposed her to the danger of being abused.
Mama June cheated on Sugar Bear
Mama June and Sugar Bear were until not long ago TLC’s biggest reality TV couple. They broke up shortly before word got out that she was dating her pedophile ex, amidst claims that he had cheated, or at least tried to cheat on her.
Uncle Poodle is now saying that it was the other way around: Mama June slept around on her partner, and she did it with McDaniel. She took him, Honey Boo Boo, Uncle Poodle, and his boyfriend on a trip to Cherokee, North Carolina, in September, while telling Sugar Bear that they would be in Atlanta.
The trip was basically an excuse for her to have some fun behind Sugar Bear’s back, but she seemed to have been doing it without the least consideration for the safety of her daughter: according to the uncle, Honey Boo Boo slept in the same room as her mother and her lover, on the floor.
However, in the morning, he found her in the same bed as the two adults, cuddling. Uncle Puddle is convinced that Honey Boo Boo is McDaniel’s next target, especially since Chickadee was about the same age when she was molested too.
Mama June is a monster
“I'm disgusted with June for not protecting Alana from Mark,” Uncle Poodle says. “This guy can't be trusted. He needs to be locked up and have the key thrown away. I wouldn't be surprised if he's targeting Alana.”
In the meantime, Uncle Poodle is said to have already looked into his legal options to get temporary custody of Honey Boo Boo, until his brother gets back on his feet and asks for permanent custody, thus removing her from that dangerous house.
The problem with his plan is that Sugar Bear seems to have moved back in the house and is siding with Mama June on this, even making public appearances with her like in the good days, when they were still a couple.
Uncle Poodle’s motives are shady at best
There is a good chance that what Uncle Poodle is saying is at least partially true, but there’s also the possibility that he’s trying to capitalize on a very nasty situation just so he can land his own reality show. With TLC canceling Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, he’ll be out of money soon, and he’s said to be looking to get his own series with whatever network will have him.
Consider this: if he knew about this since September, why didn’t he speak out then? Why didn’t he go to the police if he’s so convinced that McDaniel should be locked up and have the key thrown away? Why did he wait for 2 months before going to the press? Why hasn’t he asked for custody yet?
There are simply too many loose ends here for his story to hold water.
