Video game hardware maker and publisher Sony unveils the winners of its own PlayStation Awards for this year, with titles like Resident Evil 6, Journey and Uncharted: Golden Abyss getting most of the recognition. Sony has failed to offer a Platinum Prize because no PlayStation-branded video game has managed to sell more than 1 million units over the calendar year on the Japanese home market.
The Gold prize was picked up by 5 PS3 titles, but no Vita game has managed to make the list, which underlines the difficulties encountered by the newly introduced Sony handheld.
In order to compensate, Sony is offering a Special Prize, which is awarded to the top five selling games on the PlayStation Vita.
