It's a little over two months until the PlayStation Vita handheld from Sony will be launched in Japan and the publisher has released the pricing options for some of the titles that will accompany the launch of the device.

Here are the announced prices:

- Uncharted: Golden Abyss: 5,980 Yen, which is about 78 dollars and a little over 57 Euro, when players pick up the retail version and 4,900 Yen (64 dollars) for the downloadable version; - Hot Shots Golf: 4,980 Yen (65 dollars) or 3,980 Yen (52 dollars); - Ridge Racer: 3,980 Yen (52 dollars) and 3,580 Yen (47 dollars) - Katamari: 4,980 Yen and 4,480 Yen (58 dollars).

Sony also announced a promotion for Ridge Racer, allowing who who get it between December 17 and March 31, 2012 to download it for just 2,980 Yen (39 dollars) with the price of the Katamari digitally distributed package sold during the same time frame for just 3,980 Yen (52 dollars).

The prices for the Japanese market are not a clear indicator of how much the same games will cost in the West.

To make any comparisons easier those who are interested in the PlayStation Vita handheld need to keep in mind the fact that the device itself will be sold for the equivalent of 326 dollars, with the confirmed price for North America being 250 dollars.

This might mean that Uncharted: Golden Abyss might be sold for 49.99 dollars in the West, with the other prices coming down on an equivalent scale.

Sony has confirmed that December 17 will be the launch date for the Vita in Japan and that the device will arrive in Europe and North America during the first months of next year.

The company has confirmed that it plans to have a solid launch line-up for its new platform in order to avoid the issues that the Nintendo 3DS currently has.
