Sony has just shared a series of brand new details about the story from Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, shedding light on just what adventure protagonist Nathan Drake will go on when the title debuts onto the PS4 this fall.

Uncharted games have delivered some very impressive experiences over the years, delighting PS3 and PS Vita owners with all sorts of adventures for series protagonist Nathan Drake, as well as for his friends and enemies.

Uncharted 4 got its official reveal last year, when developer Naughty Dog presented the first few details about the game. Back in December, the first gameplay demonstration was made during the PlayStation Experience, and earlier this month, quite a lot of different details appeared.

Uncharted 4's story gets full details

Now, Sony brings forth some more impressive info about the action-adventure experience, this time in the form of a description of the actual story.

According to the overview, via Gamepur, it's been several years since Nathan Drake retired from the fortune hunting world, but this time, he's pulled back in due to a personal matter, in the form of his long-lost brother Sam. Naughty Dog emphasizes, however, that every treasure has its cost and A Thief's End is going to test Drake's physical limits, his resolve, and what he's willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves.

"Set three years after the events of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, Nathan Drake has presumably left the world of fortune hunting behind. However, it doesn't take long for adventure to come calling when Drake's brother, Sam, resurfaces seeking his help to save his own life and offering an adventure Drake can't resist," the description reads.

"On the hunt for Captain Henry Avery's long-lost treasure, Sam and Drake set off to find Libertalia, the pirate utopia deep in the forests of Madagascar. Uncharted 4: A Thief's End takes players on a journey around the globe, through jungle isles, urban cities and snow-capped peaks on the search for Avery's fortune."

A few gameplay details are also confirmed

Besides the full story description, Sony and Naughty Dog also confirm that there will be new dynamic gameplay mechanics for combat and traversal, not to mention larger and more open environments to explore. Of course, better visuals and enhanced character models promise to bring the game to life in a whole new way.

As of yet, however, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End still doesn't have a concrete release date.
