The developer of the Uncharted series, Naughty Dog, is getting ready to debut the next installment in the series, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, but this doesn't mean it's not thinking about the future of the series, as its producer, Justin Richmond, has already emphasized that there a lot more adventures prepared for Drake.

The Uncharted franchise is definitely one of the biggest and most popular ones on the PlayStation 3 console, and is soon going to debut on the PlayStation Vita as well, so you can imagine that its creator, Naughty Dog, wants nothing but the best.

As such, while Uncharted 3 is set to push the stunning technology we saw in Uncharted 2 even further, the studio is already thinking about the future and what Uncharted 4 might have in store for its protagonist, Nathan Drake.

Speaking with the Official PlayStation Magazine UK, Naughty Dog producer Justin Richmond talked about the future of the series and how there any concrete decisions about it have yet to be taken.

“There are a ton of Drake adventures out there and we haven’t told all of them yet, and as long as fans want the games and as long as we find something that’s interesting and will push the medium forward, we’ll continue to make them. We haven't decided at all about the next game, however."

Richmond highlights that the development process at Naughty Dog is focused on topping the previous experience, and there's always the need to dial ideas or expectations down so that players won't end up with highly improbable scenarios, like Drake in space.

Still, Richmond and the team at the Californian studio are quite excited about Uncharted 3, and only after its release tomorrow, on November 1, for the PlayStation 3, will they start focusing on topping that experience.

Uncharted 3 is expected to bring not just a new series of single-player adventures for Drake, but also an overhauled multiplayer mode that's already been tested through a beta stage earlier this year as well as an early access promotion throughout the month of October.
