Uncharted 4: A Thief's End developer Naughty Dog confirms that the multiplayer mode in the upcoming title is already playable and that regular matches between its development team and its testing crew are already taking place.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End was revealed to the world last year, and quite a lot of different sequences have been revealed over the last few months, in the form of brief gameplay demonstrations and a few screenshots.

While much has already been said about its single-player story, which brings a fresh adventure for series protagonist Nathan Drake, while introducing his never-before-seen brother, not much is known about the multiplayer mode that's going to be included in the PS4 exclusive experience.

Uncharted 4's online multiplayer is being tested as we speak

Naughty Dog is still keeping quiet on the online mode in the new title but it does confirm, via the Twitter of Lead Game Designer Robert Cogburn, that the multiplayer is already playable.

What's more, regular matches take place between the regular multiplayer development team and the quality assurance (aka testing) crew, which ensures that there are no problems at least for now with the experience.

Expect details later this month at E3 2015

For now the multiplayer staff are currently dominating but things might change as we get closer to the debut of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End at the beginning of 2016.

Judging by the matches, it seems that the Uncharted 4 multiplayer will at least deliver a competitive mode. It's unclear if a cooperative experience, like the one seen in Uncharted 3, might be included for those who prefer going up against the AI alongside their friends.

Sony is expected to share more details about the PS4 exclusive game later this month, on June 15, during the E3 2015 press conference, as Uncharted 4 is among the few major exclusives that are set to appear in the future for its home console.
