The developers at Naughty Dog have listened to the fan base and are ready to deliver a new aiming mode for their latest release, designed to appeal more to long term fans of the Uncharted franchise.

Speaking to Giant Bomb about the criticism aimed at the gunfights of Uncharted 3, Arne Meyer, who is the community manager at Naughty Dog, stated, “We took some time to investigate internally because in all of our focus testing – probably about three months of straight focus testing – we never got any feedback the aiming was unsatisfactory to those people.”

He said that the team working on the game had no problem with the system and they made the choice to invite a number of players from the NeoGAF forums to come to the headquarters of the development team and show them what was wrong.

Arne Meyer says that the feedback from players was very good, adding, “They were really sharp in terms of being analytical and being able upfront with what the changes were, and they were very clear and direct about what it was, and it was actually super helpful for us.”

The team made a lot of changes based on the feedback they got and the end result is that a new patch for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception will add a menu options which allows players to select a second aiming system that is very close to that offered by the previous game in the series.

The developers have not said when the patch will be launched and whether the two aiming modes will be segregated when it comes to multiplayer action.

Uncharted 3 has received mostly positive reviews when it launched but a number of the players have complained that aiming was too inaccurate for their liking, especially in the multiplayer modes.
