14 DAY TRIAL // Sony and Naughty Dog, the publisher and developer of the upcoming Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, announced that the recent beta stage ran for the new title was the biggest ever held on the PlayStation 3, being played by over 1.53 million people.
Uncharted 3 is by far one of the most anticipated games of the year for the PlayStation 3, with many gamers looking forward to how the new title will improve on the already excellent Uncharted 2.
Many of them got a chance to experiment with the upcoming game in the last few weeks, as Naughty Dog and Sony held a multiplayer beta stage for the game, which allowed players to engage in the new online modes and maps created by the studio, while the two companies recorded a massive amount of feedback on the multiplayer portion of Uncharted 3.
As further testimony to the popularity of the beta, Naughty Dog community strategist Arne Meyer released a few statistics on the PlayStation blog. -Total unique Beta players: 1.53 million people -Total kills: 1.9 billion -Total Cash collected: 1.4 TRILLION dollars (that’s greater than the gross domestic product of Spain, the eleventh highest GDP in the world!) -Total shots fired: 48 billion -Total matches completed: 22 million -Total time played: More than 362 years worth of matches. Meyer confirms that the Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta forums have closed, but Naughty Dog is continuing to accept feedback through the normal Multiplayer discussion forum. Fans should rest assured that their voices have been heard, and that the multiplayer designers are working hard on addressing their issues, complaints or suggestions before the final game is shipped.
If you can't wait until November, when Uncharted 3 appears, Meyer also confirmed that Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception will be showcased at the PlayStation Booth during this week's San Diego Comic-Con, and a special panel focused on the game will be held on Friday, so expect many special announcements at that time.
