14 DAY TRIAL // Naughty Dog has just released a brand new patch for its Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception game, setting the stage for quite a lot of changes to its multiplayer mode and for some new DLC that consists of over 100 pieces of unique content.
Uncharted 3 came out last November and was supported by developer Naughty Dog with an array of patches designed for the single-player mode but also for the multiplayer one.
The biggest change came earlier this year when The Lab section was added to the multiplayer in order to let the studio experiment with special features and options and then get feedback from players.
After quite a lot of testing, the new patch 1.13 for Uncharted 3 has just been released on the PlayStation Network.
Besides fixing all sorts of issues, the update also brings support for over 100 pieces of unique content that will be released soon. These new items can be unlocked in two distinct ways, either by progressing through the game or by purchasing them via the PS Store.
“We’re adding over 100 pieces of unique, new content to Uncharted 3’s multiplayer in this patch,” Naughty Dog said. “The upcoming DLC can be unlocked either by earning the necessary in-game levels, completing specific treasure sets through playing or via a PS Store purchase if you’d rather unlock a certain item more quickly.”
All of this DLC will be rolled out via the weekly PS Store updates between August 14 and September 4.
Another major aspect of update 1.13 for Uncharted 3 is a Tournament System, which rewards players for participating in a competition with points that can then be used to buy in-game weapons or items. These unlockables will be yours until the next tournament. Each player starts with 10 tickets and you’ll be able to get more by either playing well or through microtransactions on the PS Store.
Last but not least, The Lab section of the multiplayer is getting new Block Mesh maps, which “are maps of colored block mesh that have been designed by the imaginative artists and designers here at Naughty Dog to provide some wild and distinct multiplayer gameplay.”
