14 DAY TRIAL // Sony and Naughty Dog have confirmed that their recent Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception adventure shooter will be getting a fresh batch of downloadable content next week, in the form of a new Co-Op Shade Survival Mode.
Uncharted 3 delivered a great story as well as some impressive online modes, both in the form of a cooperative and a competitive experience.
We were quite impressed with both of them and developer Naughty Dog brought forth plenty of new content for the two modes, including new maps and characters.
Now, the studio is getting ready to unleash a new bit of DLC next week, in the form of the Co-Op Shade Survival Mode. In it, players try to survive against waves of Djinn enemies, who can teleport and unleash powerful attacks.
“A new game type is coming in fiery hot to Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception multiplayer. Co-op Shade Survival Mode will be available Tuesday, March 13 on PlayStation Store. You’ll be able to tackle some of the toughest enemies in the Uncharted franchise with the help of your friends,” the studio revealed.
The new mode allows players to work together with their friends and try to survive eight waves of Djinn onslaught across multiple maps.
“The Djinn haunt this mode as you and your friends will be assaulted by wave after wave of progressively more demanding opponents. There are eight rounds in total. The Djinn’s ability to catch fire and teleport poses a formidable challenge to team strategy and coordination, and later rounds include highly skilled Djinn sporting extra armor and firepower, so get ready for a hearty battle.”
Increased cash rewards are present in the new mode, so players can level up their skills faster than in regular survival experiences.
What’s more, new medals and different objectives are also included. Among them is a Marked Man round objective, where one Djinn is marked and players need to get through his bodyguards to take him down.
The Co-Op Shade Survival Mode DLC will cost $5.99/€5.99 for regular Uncharted 3 owners, while Fortune Hunter’s Club members get it for free.
