Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, the PlayStation 3 exclusive developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony launched in late 2009, has been the big winner at the 13th edition of the Annual Interactive Achievement Awards traditionally held at the DICE conference.

The title picked up the Game of the Year award and took home another nine prizes during the ceremony, including those for Game Direction, Original Story and Adventure Game of the Year. It seems that Modern Warfare 2 might well be the best selling videogame of 2009 but that Uncharted 2 is taking home more honors from game critics.

The ceremony was held in Las Vegas and other games that received multiple awards were Brutal Legend from Double Fine and Electronic Arts, Batman: Arkham Asylum from Rocksteady and Warner Bros., Scribblenauts from 5th Cell and Warner Bros., and Modern Warfare 2.

At the same ceremony, David Crane, one of the co-founders of Activision, received the Pioneer Award, while Douglas Lowenstein, the man who founded the Entertainment Software Association, got the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Winners by categories included: Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction - Uncharted 2: Among Thieves; Casual Game of the Year – Flower; Fighting Game of the Year - Street Fighter IV; Role-Playing/Massively Multiplayer Game of the Year - Dragon Age: Origins; Sports Game of the Year - FIFA Soccer 10; Racing Game of the Year - Forza Motorsport 3; Outstanding Achievement in Game Design - Batman: Arkham Asylum; Social Networking Game of the Year – Farmville; Strategy/Simulation Game of the Year - Brutal Legend; Action Game of the Year - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2; Family Game of the Year - The Beatles: Rock Band; Outstanding Innovation in Gaming – Scribblenauts; Outstanding Character Performance – the Joker for his appearance in Batman: Arkham Asylum; Outstanding Achievement in Online Game Play - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
