UnRar Sharp is now available as a free download for all Mac users running OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard who need a multi-purpose unarchiving/archiving utility which actually comes with its own big interface.

Generally, archive utilities are simple apps that either have a small UI or no UI at all, but UnRar is different. In addition to supporting a truckload of formats, the software lets you preview archives (without opening them), supports automatic mode and manual mode with personalized settings, offers management features, supports dragging and dropping files directly to the Finder to decompress from the list view, and a lot more.

Unzip formats include rar, zip, gzip, tar, cbz, cbr, gz, tgz, bz, bz2 ,tgz2 ,tbz, and the only supported compression format is zip. The app is now free, thanks to the (temporary) generosity of developer ujweng.

Version 1.1, recently released in the Mac App Store, supports extracting 7 zip formats, supports previewing text format file and image file, and improves stability.
