Opera and Umniah, the fastest telecom operator in Jordan, have announced a partnership aimed at providing users in the country with an enhanced mobile browsing experience.
The wireless carrier will load a co-branded version of the Opera Mini mobile browser on its devices, thus providing users with unlimited Internet navigation.
All of the operator’s two million customers have access to this special flavor of the Opera Mini application, which has been specifically tailored to fit their needs.
The browser comes with a Speed Dial page so that users would receive one click access to Umniah’s WAP and 3G entertainment portals.
Moreover, it also provides users with fast access to social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, which are conveniently linked on the same Speed Dial start page.
According to Opera, its mobile browsers have over 200 million monthly users all around the world, and can be loaded on more than 3000 different phone models.
“Opera Mini is the world’s browser of choice, and we are excited to bring it to Umniah’s subscribers for an improved online experience,” said Lars Boilesen, CEO, Opera Software.
“Opera firmly believes that internet access is a human right, and we are committed to bringing the web to more people, and more people to the web.”
Opera Mini also comes with webpage compression technology, delivering pages at only 10 percent of their original size, thus offering both significant cost savings and fast browsing speeds.
Furthermore, the browser arrives at Umniah with unlimited browsing with weekly or monthly subscriptions.
“Umniah has always been proud of its strategy to provide customers with the best solutions and the best value,” said Omar Al Omoush, the director of marketing at Umniah. “Customers’ mobile web needs have been evolving quickly, which lead us to provide them with a fast and enjoyable experience with Opera Mini.”
Umniah customers interested in taking advantage of the features and capabilities of the new Opera Mini flavor can download it either from Opera’s website or by dialing #366*.
