The developer of UltraDefrag is taking the last steps prior to launching the stable version 6.0 of the application as the first release candidate has been rolled out over the weekend.
Version 6.0 of the application will provide optimized algorithms for all disk-processing algorithms in order to increase speed and efficiency. Optimization for FAT disks is now also supported as well as the possibility to specify file sorting order and criteria for the optimization procedure.
Additional filters for fragment and file size have been added and the optimization process makes use of all specified filters.
Starting this revision, you can minimize the application window to the system tray and the progress can be displayed on the taskbar icon in Windows 7 or later, allowing for a quick way to check on the job completion.
