Mobile phone maker Motorola is reportedly gearing up for the launch of a new Android-based smartphone as soon as the next month, and some info on the device has emerged online now.

Previously, the company was rumored to plan the release of a successor for the Moto X handset, one that would supposedly be called Moto X+1, but it seems that the new device will actually be different from it.

Said to feature model number XT1021, the new Motorola device is also expected to arrive on shelves in two other versions as well, including a dual-SIM model, the XT1022, and a dual-SIM variant that also includes digital TV capabilities, namely the XT1025.

Brazilian website Tecnoblog notes that all three models have already received the necessary approvals in the country, and that they should arrive on shelves as affordable models.

The mobile phone will be released with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display and should be powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor. Unfortunately, no specific info on the screen’s resolution or on the device’s processor type has been provided as of now.

However, it seems that the new Motorola Mobile Phone will arrive on the market with 1GB of RAM packed inside, as well as with 4GB of internal memory.

The phone might also include a microSD memory card slot for expansion purposes, though no specific details on the matter have emerged so far.

What is known, however, is the fact that Motorola plans on packing a 1900mAh battery inside the device.

Moreover, it seems that the phone will hit shelves with a 5-megapixel camera on the back, as well as with Google’s Android 4.4 KitKat operating system loaded on top.

As PhoneArena notes, the new device is also very thin, measuring only 4.91 x 2.55 x 0.24 inches (124.8 x 64.8 x 6.2 mm).

The Motorola XT1021 received the necessary approvals from the FCC earlier this month, with support for AT&T 3G network, though there’s no confirmation available on its arrival at this wireless carrier, at least not at the moment.

Motorola XT1021 (and XT1022 and XT1025 variants) should arrive on shelves in Brazil as soon as the next month, though it still remains to be seen whether the rumor will pan out or not.

Should the phone arrive in this country, chances are that Motorola will bring it to other markets around the world as well soon after, so keep an eye on this space to learn specifics on this.
