Ultimate Mortal Kombat is a video created exclusively for the Nintendo DS handheld platform by Other Ocean Interactive and published by Midway on November 12, 2007, as the 18th game that was part of the company's hugely successful and long running Mortal Kombat fighting franchise, which started life back in North American arcades in the 1980s.
Ultimate Mortal Kombat keeps the same core elements of previous fighting titles released in the series, with two players battling for survival in grueling tournament, but also introduces the possibility of multiplayer matches, either locally through the Nintendo DS' Wi-Fi connection or online, around the world, if you were connected to the Internet, and even some unique modes such as Puzzle Kombat, which emphasizes puzzle solving skills rather than fighting ones.
