Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is now available for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad. Published by Electronic Arts, the game is now on sale for just a buck - priced similarly to a multitude of other EA games.

“The original arcade fighting game is available NOW!” EA’s description reads.

“With 13 klassic warriors including Scorpion, Sub-Zero, and Sonya Blade; multiple game modes; kustomizable kontrols; and updated visuals aimed to maximize the high-resolution Retina Display...you can relive the brutal combos and vicious fatalities that made Mortal Kombat one of the most iconic videogames EVER!”

Mortal Kombat was originally developed by the folks at Midway, but it seems EA’s developers have handled the porting of this arcade classic onto iOS platforms.

However, UMK 3 for iOS is not a port of the original arcade game, per se.

Ultimate Mortal Kombat, also known as UMK, and UMKD, is the 18th game in the Mortal Kombat series, released exclusively for the Nintendo DS.

The game combines updated versions of the original Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 arcade game and the Puzzle Kombat minigame from Mortal Kombat: Deception.

It features less characters than the original, as well as less detailed characters, although movement is more fluent.

“Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 takes full advantage of the high-resolution Retina Display offering incredible visual fidelity enhanced from the original arcade game,” EA claims.

It presents gamers with 10 arenas in Arcade Mode, the ability to customize button layout, Fatalities and humiliating Babalities, multiplayer game modes, and more.

Available for download via the link below, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 supports several different languages, including English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Korean, and Spanish.

The game is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iOS 3.0 or later.
