Xbox Live received a kick from Mortal Kombat

Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 made a short appearance Friday night on the Xbox Live service. At first, the game disappeared only to appear again later that evening.

What dazzled gamers that had a chance to play UMK3 on the Xbox is that no previous announcements about the games' release were made. Those who have an Xbox Live account were able to download the free trial version of the game, as well as a full version for about 800 Microsoft points-about US$ 10. The game also had available a two and four persons multiplayer mode.

The feedback for gamers that tried out Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 on Xbox Live was not a positive one as forums were filled with messages complaining about bugs in the game. Also, GameSpot editors who got a chance to play the Xbox Live version of the game declared that the game needs serious improvements.

Being a fan of the Mortal Kombat series, I can't wait to try out the new game and experience the new kombat zones. Scorpion's lair is a new kombat zone included in the game, and it features a new pit fatality, where the opponent is uppercuted into a river of lava. Or so I've heard!
