In classic Capcom style, the Japanese company has announced that a new and improved version of Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of the Two Worlds, with the Ultimate prefix, will arrive later this year with special improvements and 12 all-new fighters.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 appeared earlier this year, in February, and amazed plenty of fighting game fans with its hefty roster of characters, both from many Capcom franchises, including Street Fighter or Resident Evil, but also from Marvel comic books, like Wolverine, Iron Man or Dr. Doom.

The title became an instant hit, but Capcom is now ready to release an updated version, called, what else, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3.

The game will be out later this year for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, in November, and include 12 new fighters, taking the full roster up to 50 characters, as well as plenty of improvements in terms of gameplay.

More specifically, 12 characters are joining the fray, four of which have already been revealed through the gameplay video you can enjoy below, in the form of Strider and Firebrand, from Capcom, and Ghost Rider and Hawkeye from Marvel.

Fans quickly scoured the available footage and pretty much found out who the other characters are, including Phoenix Wright, Frank West, Doctor Strange, Vergil, Nemesis, Nova, Rocket Raccoon and Iron Fist.

Bear in mind the aforementioned fighters have yet to be confirmed by Capcom, but they're pretty much certain to appear in the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom title.

Among the improvements that are included with the new game, the company confirmed that several balancing issues have been resolved, while the online functionality is improved for a much smoother experience. What's more, the oft-requested Spectator Mode is now available, so others can enjoy live online matches.

According to a listing from Amazon, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is out on November 15, and costs just $39.99, but it has yet to be confirmed by the Japanese company.

Until then, check out the screenshots and gameplay video of the new fighting game below.
