The development team behind the popular UBCD (Ultimate Boot CD) project have announced recently that they are working on a Live version of Ultimate Boot CD, which is currently based on the Debian GNU/Linux operating system and has the ultimate goal of becoming a Parted Magic replacement.

In order for Ultimate Boot CD Live to become a Parted Magic replacement, certain criteria have to be met, such as its ability to support existing Parted Magic and UBCD modules, be easily customizable, have the same system requirements as Parted Magic, and have a user-friendly interface.

"UBCD Live is a Debian Linux based LiveCD that was created as a candidate that will eventually replace Parted Magic (within UBCD). Its creation was mostly a result of this forum thread where we discussed what should replace Parted Magic after its author decided to put up a paywall around it," was stated on the project's page.

Here's what’s included in Ultimate Boot CD Live
