Ultimate 8502 and 9502 from i-mate

i-mate unveiled today two new smartphones, the Ultimate 8502 and Ultimate 9502, packed with lots of advanced features. The handsets come after another two smartphones from the Ultimate family were revealed, about a month ago, the Ultimate 6150 and Ultimate 8150.

Both 8502 and 9502 have QWERTY keyboards, integrated GPS, TV/Audio output slots and are powered by the Windows Mobile 6 Professional platform. The smartphones work with the 400 MHz Qualcomm MSM 7200 processor, the same used on HTC TyTN II and provide 256 MB ROM, 128 MB RAM and a microSD card slot. They offer Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity and provide support for GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band HSDPA/HSUPA.

The list of the included software that comes with 8502 and 9502 is huge. We have Windows Outlook Mobile, Windows Push Mail, Word Mobile, Excel Mobile, PowerPoint Mobile, Internet Explorer Mobile, Windows Media Player 10 Mobile with Control Panel, i-mate GPRS Configurator for WAP and MMS, ClearVue PDF viewer, Picture & Video Viewer, Windows Live Messenger, ActiveSync Client, RTSP Video Streaming, SIM Manager, MMS Client and so on.

Ultimate 8502 and 9502 support a wide range of multimedia formats, including MP3, AAC, AAC+, Midi, AMR, ASF, WMA, H.263, H.264, MPEG4 and WMV.

The i-mate Ultimate 8502 comes with a decent 2.0 megapixel camera and a 2.6 inch QVGA touch-screen with 262k colors at a 320×240 pixel resolution. It has a 37-key Qwerty keypad, weighs only 140g (with battery pack) and measures 116 x 55 x 15 millimeters.

i-mate Ultimate 9502 has a 3.0 megapixel auto-focus camera and a very nice 2.8 inch VGA touch-screen with a 640×480 resolution. Its 39-key Qwerty keypad is hidden under the display, which slides to unveil the keypad.

i-mate Ultimate 8502 and i-mate Ultimate 9502 will be released somewhere this fall with a pack of accessories including, of course, a stylus, USB sync cable, AC adapter, stereo headset with microphone and TV & Audio out cable.
