Hardy Heron Alpha 3 Freeze ahead!

Not much happened this week, with the holidays and all that. Ubuntu Live Conference was announced and it will take place on July 21st-22nd, 2008 in Portland, Oregon. The Ubuntu team invites you to watch some videos from the last conference and get a feel for how the conference works and what should you expect.

It's time to squash bugs, as Ubuntu 8.04 LTS Alpha 3 is expected to be released on January 10th and the Ubuntu team urges all developers to implement this freeze on their end before uploading

packages to the archive. Alpha 3 will bring some new features, such as Firefox 3 Beta 2 and PolicyKit integration! We will talk more about these Alpha releases on the next newsletter.

Now, let's move on to the security updates and fixes for all the Ubuntu releases. There were no common security updates this week, so let's have a look at the updates for Ubuntu 6.06 LTS:

As you can see, the most important updates this week were Opera 9.25 and Battle for Wesnoth 1.2.8.
