At the beginning of this week, not only that
Canonical announced plans for Ubuntu Mobile, but WIBRAIN Korea launched its
B1L UMPC device powered by none other than Ubuntu Linux. The device has a VIA 1GHz CPU and a huge 4.8-inch LCD display with a 1024 x 600 resolution.
System76 Inc., a leading provider of Ubuntu pre-installed laptops and desktops,
announced on Tuesday that it would offer for sale its first line of certified,
pre-installed servers that run Ubuntu 7.10 Server Edition. The offer includes standard three-year parts replacement warranties and three years of operating system updates.
The great news this week was the launch of the incredible
Ubuntu Brainstorm website, a place where anyone who cares about the future of the Ubuntu OS, and has a wonderful idea about how the system should look or perform in future versions, can post them for the Ubuntu developers to make these ideas reality (or not)!
In other news, Kubuntu released its first alpha version of the
Kubuntu-KDE4 8.04 operating system, which includes version 4.0.1 of the popular and powerful KDE (K Desktop Environment) desktop.
