The most important thing that happened this week in the Ubuntu world was the kernel vulnerability found in Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu and Edubuntu 8.04. This kernel vulnerability could allow a local attacker to cause a system crash,
leading to a DoS (Denial of Service). The security flaw can be fixed if you upgrade your system to the new kernel packages!

On Thursday, June 3rd, 2008, Canonical showcased the Ubuntu Netbook Remix at Computex, a revamped desktop image of Ubuntu Linux that was created especially for the new portable, affordable, powered by the Intel Atom processor, Internet-centric devices, called netbooks. Find out more here.

In the end, we want to let you know that starting with Friday August 8th and until Sunday August 10th 2008, the first Ubuntu Global Bug Jam, an online and face-to-face world-wide meeting that will bring together all those people (Ubuntu users, developers, etc.) who want to fix Ubuntu bugs, will take place.
