Ubuntu Weekly Report: 10th - 15th February, 2008

Hot news ladies, gentlemen and fellow Ubuntuers, as on Monday, Alfresco, one of the leading open source alternatives for enterprise content management, announced that Ubuntu and Red Hat were Top Open Source Vendors after the results of their poll, started among its 35,000 members to see what operating systems are the most used. Everybody's talking these days about the brand new beta
release of Firefox 3, that it brings many improvements and memory leaks fixes, that it is extremely fast and polishes rough edges. Therefore, if you want to install Firefox 3 Beta 3 on Ubuntu 7.10 take a look at our extremely easy to use step-by-step tutorial, here.

Hardy Heron Alpha 5 is expected this Thursday and from now on until the final release, the development team will focus on polishing and bug fixing. Also, they officially announced that PulseAudio would be the default sound server in Ubuntu 8.04 LTS, due to release on April 24.

The updates for Ubuntu 7.04 are:

■ clamav_0.90.2-0ubuntu1.6
■ klavaro 1.0.1-1ubuntu1

And finally, the updates for Ubuntu 7.10 are:

■ linux-source-2.6.22 2.6.22-14.52

■ clamav_0.91.2-3ubuntu2.3

I think that hardy will be a great movement in the right direction, and i hope that it is well polished in terms of the bug fixes etc.

Does anyone know if the image is a real theme for ubuntu? i would love to have that on my machine!!!

Yeah, me too :) That's NOT real, it's a mockup. However, some tried to create a real theme that looks like that:

It doesn't look that great, but it's a start :)
