The famous Ubuntu Tweak utility that makes the life of Ubuntu users a breeze, by allowing them to easily configure various settings of the operating system, has announced the next major release, Ubuntu Tweak 0.6.0.

Ubuntu Tweak 0.6.0 has not yet been officially released, but the developer announced on his blog that the upcoming version will bring support for Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric Ocelot), to easily configure the Unity interface.

The newly released Linux Mint 12 (Lisa) will also be supported, as well as the ability to configure GNOME 3's GNOME Shell interface and Unity 2D.

To install the current release of Ubuntu Tweak 0.6.0, open a terminal window (hit the CTRL+ALT+T key combination) and paste the following command lines (one by one, hitting Enter after each one):

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:tualatrix/next

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install ubuntu-tweak

Be aware that it still has some bugs and it can crash your Ubuntu installation. We will let you know when the final release of Ubuntu Tweak 0.6.0 is out!
