The Ubuntu Touch operating system from Canonical also comes with its own Internet browser, developed internally, and the application is still improved. A new batch of features is about to land very soon, including an incognito mode.

Any serious Internet browser needs to have an Incognito mode for the browser, but that particular feature wasn't available just yet. From the looks of it, the developers from Canonical have finally implemented this feature, and it will probably land with the new batch of updates.

The Ubuntu developers had a meeting a couple of days ago, and they discussed the changes that have been made to the core apps on the phone and the modifications that still need to be implemented. As you can expect, there is still a lot of work to do, and we can see some of the improvements to be made available.

Private browsing is just one of the new features

According to the changelog, besides the private browsing, developers have also implemented much better animation for tab switching and a fix for black tab previews. Also, they are working to add bookmark folders, a find in page function, keyboard shortcuts, and browser tabs for desktop mode.

The telephony app was also updated and MMS Group Chat support and settings page has finally landed, some problems with the Address Book have been fixed, and integration work is now under way for the messaging-app so that it's able to send and receive messages using sample plugin.

Ubuntu Touch is set to receive some important updates in the coming months, and it already looks like a handful of them will be available very soon. All the phones that are now running Ubuntu Touch, meaning Nexus 4, Bq e4.5, and Meizu MX4, should get all of these goodies at once.
