Ubuntu Studio, a multimedia editing / creation flavor of Ubuntu, has reached version 14.04 Beta 2 (Trusty Tahr) and is now ready for download and testing.

Ubuntu Studio 14.04 Beta 2 (Trusty Tahr) has been released along with all the other flavors, like Kubuntu, Xubuntu, and Ubuntu GNOME, and it's sharing some of their features.

The distribution is based on the latest Xfce 4.10 desktop and integrates a new menu structure which works on any desktop environment.

According to the changelog, a new installer option has been added and users can now influence package selection, whereas uninstalling most of the packages in the workflow metas will no longer uninstall the meta itself. Then, a number of new apps have been integrated, mainly for the audio workflow, including all pd libs and synthv1, samplv1 as well as drumkv1.
