The result of Canonical's partnership with Pearson Technology Group and Linux New Media

Canonical announced a couple of days ago, October 24th, that new books and magazines have been added to Ubuntu Software Center, from its new partners Linux New Media and Pearson Technology Group.

Ubuntu users will be able to purchase the new titles from Ubuntu Software Center, and download them as high-quality PDF files, to their Ubuntu desktops or e-readers.

"Through this innovative partnership we are adding eBooks and magazines to the wide range of applications currently available in the Ubuntu Software Center, creating a fantastic revenue opportunity for Ubuntu developers and content creators," said Steve George, VP Business Development, Canonical.

Available titles include: The Official Ubuntu Book, 6/e by Benjamin Hill, Matthew Helmke, Amber Graner and Corey Burger; Ubuntu Unleashed: 2011 Edition by Matthew Helmke, Andrew Hudson and Paul Hudson; The Official Ubuntu Server Book, 2/e by Kyle Rankin and Benjamin Hill; A Practical Guide to Ubuntu Linux, 3/e by Mark Sobell.

Last but not least, Linux New Media magazines, such as Linux Magazine, Ubuntu User, ADMIN and Smart Developer, will also be available for purchase, from $6.99 USD (5 EUR).
