Ubuntu Rescue Remix 11.04 Is Available for Download

Right after the announcement for Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal), Andrew Zajac proudly announced the immediate availability for download of the Ubuntu Rescue Remix 11.04 operating system.

Ubuntu Rescue Remix 11.04, the rescue and computer forensics Linux distro, is based on the most recent Ubuntu 11.04 release. It comes with lots of updated packages and an up-to-date infrastructure.

Among new applications included in Ubuntu Rescue Remix 11.04 we can mention Dump, a powerfull backup/restore solution, and ClamAV, one of the best free-libre antivirus software.

Ubuntu Rescue Remix 11.04 includes up-to-date free/libre and open source data recovery applications, such as GNU ddrescue, The Sleuth Kit, Gnu-fdisk and Photorec.

"Version 11.04 (Natty Narwhal) of the very best Free-Libre Open-Source data recovery software toolkit based on Ubuntu is out."

"This version features and up-to-date infrastructure and several new packages including Dump, a backup and restore solution as well as Clamav, the best in free-libre Antivirus software." - said Andrew Zajac in the official release announcement.

Ubuntu Rescue Remix 11.04 can also be installed on any existing Ubuntu 11.04 (Natty Narwhal) operating system. All you have to do is to add the following line in your repositories:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/arzajac/ppa/ubuntu natty main

You'll also have to authenticate the source by running the following command in a terminal:

sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys BDFD6D77

Finally, just install the "ubuntu-rescue-remix-tools" package using Synaptic Package Manager and you're all set.

without disturbing the existing ubuntu 11.04 operating system is it possible to reinstall latest ubuntu? i mean my files or folders should remain same as before.please guide through some steps.and i have a problem with package catalog it says it should be repaired i have gone through all the possible solutions but no use presently i am unable to download any new softwares.
