Canonical's CEO, Jane Silber, proudly announced last evening (October 6th) at the OpenStack Conference in Boston, USA, that HP has chosen the popular Ubuntu operating system to power their Public Cloud.

In order to provide a scalable, secure, business-class cloud to companies around the world, HP and Canonical are working closely together.

"We are excited to join with HP in recognizing that open and interoperable cloud infrastructure and services are critical in delivering the next generation of cloud-based services to developers, ISVs and businesses." - said Jane Silber, CEO at Canonical.

Being a flexible and responsive guest OS and a hardened and scalable host OS, Ubuntu is the perfect choice for powering OpenStack clouds.

In conclusion, we can definitely say that Ubuntu has been chosen to power one of the world's largest public cloud. Congrats to Canonical and the Ubuntu development team!
