New features will be discussed, among other things

A new Ubuntu Online Summit has been scheduled for the next development cycle of Ubuntu, where users and developers can talk about the upcoming features in the next version.

Ubuntu 15.04 is just a couple of days from launch, and the devs are already thinking about what they are going to do next, in the 15.10 development cycle. For this purpose alone, the team organizes an Ubuntu Online Summit, also named UOS 15.05, which will take place between May 5 and May 7. A lot of interesting information will be disseminated through this summit, and users can learn a lot of new things about their favorite distro.

The discussions will be opened to anyone, and they won't be all that long. The team will talk about its plans for the next cycle and Ubuntu users might get a better understanding of the direction Canonical is going. This kind of sessions are extremely useful and not just for the community.

The "Show and Tell" track will be especially interesting

Up until a few years ago, these summits were organized by Canonical and developers would meet in person, but the company switched to online summits, and the discussions and decisions are now much more transparent.

"So what does the childhood version of me reminiscing about show and tell have to do with UOS? Well, I'm glad you asked! There is a 'Show and Tell' track available to everyone as a platform for sharing interesting and unique things with the rest of the community. These sessions can be very short (5 or 10 minutes) and are a great way to share about your work within Ubuntu. With that in mind, it's a perfect opportunity for you to participate in 'Show and Tell' with the rest of the community. I encourage you to propose a session on the 'Show and Tell' track," wrote Nicholas Skaggs from Canonical.

Before getting too excited about Ubuntu 15.10, don't forget that Ubuntu 15.04 is just around the corner, so don't forget to check out the launch date of April 23.
